Skype Lessons

Classes can be done anytime if you have a PC and an internet connection. To fully maximize the learning experiences, you may need to buy a web camera or a headset with microphone depending on your PC model. You need to download skype and create your skype id to have a lesson. You are welcome to ask any questions regarding /about SKYPE to our Japan Office.

Lesson history

We record student`s lesson history in our system to keep track of their progress. Futhermore, we also share students` record via google drive for the continuity of their English classes thus making it possible for students especially of corporate group to take classes from different teachers.

English Lessons

1) General Presentation classes

The students can choose any objects around them or any of their possessions ( i.e. Mobile phone, shoes, dress and accessories ) as a subject for their presentation. Discuss something about the object, its general feature, its benefits, its special functions etc. The students will repeat each activity twice or thrice until they fully master the flow of presentation, observing correct grammar and appropriate choice of words.
The main goal of this lesson style is to develop and put into practice the student`s presentation skills.

NOTE: Qualitime guarantees strict confidentiality for actual company documents that the student wants to use as a materials / reference in the class.

2) TOEIC (Picture Descriptions, Listening comprehension, Reading comprehension)

Picture Description
Enriching the student`s vocabulary through pictures. Moreover, this lesson will help the learner develop their listening skills through different listening activities prepared by the teachers.
Reading Comprehension
Strategies on reading articles, e-mail and advertisements and squeezing the student`s understanding and interpretation. This lesson will prepare the students to achieve their TOEIC target score.

3) E-mail composition

Developing writing skills is also one of Qualitime`s aims in achieving the student`s full potential in English learning. Lessons about business letter composition as well as email composition are also available for the students. The teachers will also help them in editing and proofreading if necessary.

4) News Article reading

Students will be able to practice reading, enunciating and pronouncing words by the use of materials from the web such as Japan today, cnnnews.com, bbcnews.com and the likes. This lesson style enriches vocabulary and develops speaking skills. Furthermore, the students will be exposed to different topical issues in business, society, health, technology etc, locally and internationally.

5) Grammar class

If a student wants to start working on the basics, from simple to complex sentences and understandingdifferent grammar rules, we recommend the use of our original textbook which is based on Basic English Grammar by Betty SchrampferAzar. This grammar book is commonly used in ESL classes worldwide.

6) Business English classes

This class focuses on workplace conversation both face to face and telephone. Improving speaking skills and familiarity with business jargons are the main objectives of this class. Role plays and skit making are example of the activities in this class.

7) General English

We focus on daily events and talk about what student wants to talk. This class is establishing student`s confidence and getting used to speaking English. Teachers correct student`s mistake using a chat box even it is a casual conversation.

How to start

1) Download skype on your PC or mobile and create your skype ID.
2) Register to Qualitime for free trial lessons.
3) Japan office will confirm your free trial class by e-mail.
4) Experiencing Qualitime’s free trial class.
5) If you are decided to join, you can start reserving lessons by logging in to the homepage and accessing the reservation board.

Payment system and policy

We accept payments thru PayPal. Please be advised that payment should be made first before you reserve your classes.

How does it work?

First, you need to register with www.paypal.com. Your credit card information and e-mail address are necessary. Then, send your payment to Qualitime’s e-mail address. You will be notified by PayPal once your payment is successfully made. After receiving an acknowledgement of your payment from Qualitime, you may start reserving your classes.

Terms and conditions, individual Skype and non-Skype students

1. Technical responsibilities, Skype users

To achieve the best quality of learning, as a student you are expected to have the following: a) Skype software downloaded on your PC and mobile device, b) your own Skype ID, c) high speed internet connection, d) headset and microphone, e) camera (optional).

If you experience technical problems/difficulties during a lesson, Qualitime’s Japan office and the teacher may be of assistance with diagnosing and troubleshooting minor problems. However, the lesson time consumed will be counted.

NOTE Qualitime cannot assume responsibility for a student’s technical difficulties however our Japan office and teachers may be able to assist the student if needed.

In the event that Qualitime cannot provide a high quality of service to the student due to technical problems, Qualitime will arrange your make up class at a time convenient for you and your preferred teacher.

2. Cancellation

Students may cancel their classes two (2) hours prior to their lesson start time. They may cancel their reservations directly on the reservation board, call the Japan office or notify your teacher through email or Skype. A class or classes will be counted if the student fails to cancel. We DO NOT charge any cancellation fee.

3. Substitute teacher

In the event that a teacher is not available for a scheduled class due to technical difficulty and other emergency, the student will be notified by Qualitime’s Japan office for reschedule of classes or for a substitute teacher.

4. Cancellation of enrolment/registration

Qualitime reserves the right to cancel the student’s enrolment in the event that the student repeatedly fails to behave in a civil and courteous manner or uses obscene language when speaking with our teachers.

5. Complaints

If the student has any complaint regarding the teacher, the lessons or the service in general, she or he may call our Japan office and we will take steps to properly address the concern.

6. Validity of purchased lessons

The student has one (1) month from the 1st day to the last day of the month to consume purchased lessons. Please be advised that your subscription expires after the last day of the month.

NOTE For the new student/enrollee who wants to take advantage of our fixed price daytime course, we may adjust your fee and number of classes depending on your start date. For example, if you start mid-month, you will be charged 50% of fee for the 50% of the total number of classes. The standard rule applies from the second month.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

We ask for and use your personal information such as name, e-mail address, Skype ID and phone number for contact information, service, and communication purposes.

Disclosure to third parties

It may be necessary − by law, legal process, litigation, and/or requests from public and governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence − for Qualitime to disclose your personal information. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate.

Qualitime takes precautions — including administrative, technical, and physical measures — to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
